I created this site to share photos of the wildlife, nature and beautiful scenery that surrounds us here in Down East Maine. There is no shortage of it! It's just a matter of remembering to take the camera along. I would love for people all over the world to share and see some of the natural wonders that we get to enjoy in our little corner of Maine!
What's happening Down East?
I'm just a hobbyist with an appreciation for everything from insects and lichens to tracks and scat, and everything above and in between. This site will be evolving constantly since I try to take pictures as much as possible and especially with the changing seasons, there is so much to capture!
I do my best to provide details on each photo, such as the place it was taken and the subject matter. There are some instances in which I can't identify the species of insect or plant, so if you can help, please contact me. Also, if you have any suggestions or contributions, let me know!
